Who you might see
Our practice team includes many health professionals as well as GPs. When you contact us, we will book you with the person who is best placed to help, which is often not a GP. They are all fully trained and will involve a GP if you need one.
GPs
Our GPs deal with complex, new or unexplained problems, and oversee the care of patients with several conditions.
Advanced nurse practitioners
Highly experienced nurses who can assess, diagnose and treat many illnesses and prescribe medicines. Our paediatric advanced nurse practitioner specialises in babies, children and young people.
Practice nurses
Our nurses look after long-term conditions such as asthma and diabetes, give vaccinations, take cervical screening tests, dress wounds and give contraception and travel advice.
Nursing associates and healthcare assistants
They take blood, check blood pressure, do health checks and ECGs, and support our nurses and GPs.
Paramedics and emergency care practitioners
Our paramedics assess and treat urgent problems such as infections, minor injuries and sudden illness, and visit patients at home who cannot come to the practice.
Clinical pharmacist and pharmacy technician
Experts in medicines. They review your medicines, help with side effects and changes from hospital, and look after many long-term conditions.
Mental health worker
Supports adults with their mental health, and can help you get the right specialist care.
Health and wellbeing coach
Helps you set goals and make changes to improve your health, such as being more active, losing weight or managing a long-term condition.
Social prescribers
Connect you with local groups and services that can help with things that affect your health, such as loneliness, money worries or housing. Read more about social prescribing.
Patient services team
Our patient services team are the people you speak to when you phone or visit. They are trained to direct you to the right person or service, and will ask a few questions about why you are getting in touch. Everything you tell them is confidential.
